This week on Pickleball Channel we have a short video showing what happens when someone plays pickleball for the first time ever!  David Sims has played a lot of tennis, but he had never played pickleball before this.  Watch now to see his instant growth from beginner to awesome pickleball player in a matter of a few hours!   You too may have friends who need a little encouragement to give it a try. This is a great video to share with them and all your friends to show that anyone can learn it quickly, it’s lots of fun and you only need to try it once to enjoy the game.  Like Cat says, “Everybody’s a pickleball player, they just don’t know it yet!

  1. I REMEMBER THE 1ST TIME I PLAYED. HAVING BEEN A TEACHING TENNIS PRO FOR OVER 28 YEARS, I THOUGHT NO SWEAT. BOY! WAS I EVER WRONG. THERE ARE A LOT OF SIMILARITIES TO TENNIS, BUT IT IS VERY MUCH A THINKING PERSONS GAME. I NOW TEACH THE GAME AND HAVE COME UP WITH MY OWN FORMULA HELPING PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THE GAME. I CALL IT “PLAYING THE P’S”….PATIENCE, POSITIONING, PLACEMENT, PERSISTENCE, POWER AND LASTLY, PRACTICE-PRACTICE-PRACTICE. IF YOU CAN MASTER THE P’S, THEN YOU CAN PLAY WITH ANYONE.
ENJOY YOUR SITE, VERY HELPFUL AND I HAVE RECCOMENDED IT TO ALL MY PLAYERS.
THANKS….JOHN JESSEN (COACH JOHN), BREVARD, NC

I am an “old” Brevard College class of 71 Alumni that now resides in The Villages Florida.
I noticed your comment and wanted to find out how much pickleball is happening in the Brevard area.
I have a few friends that have played in some close tournaments I believe they said Chimney Rock or Hendersonville. Are your courts indoor or outside? Can you tell me a little bit about your program.
Do you get down this way ever?
I usually get up to Boone in the winter for skiing but have thought about Brevard and the mountains quite a bit of late.

      Jim

  2. You go David. Great play you did great. Keep having fun. Mike
