  1. I just watched the growth of Pickleball defined by number of tournaments and players in tournaments. I wanted to get in some words for those who, like my wife and I and our friends, play for fun and camaraderie not tournaments or ladders. We play for fun, but at the same time, are competitive. We don’t have the stress of playing one or two sets and, if eliminated, being unable to continue playing. If we win or lose, we sit for a few minutes or move on to another court, and play until we wish to stop. We play with and against players at all levels, from beginners to more accomplished players. We, who may be more accomplished, get great joy in teaching the beginners and watching their growth in skill in the game. At the end of our sessions, we have experience fun and exercise. Within our own area we have noticed terrific growth in numbers and skills even though we have no trophies to show for our participation.

  2. Weird?? I guess if you can’t multiply you can’t leave a message, lol! Anyway, I am 69 years old, started playing 2.5 years ago.
I am a 3.5 player and to be truthful will probably not break into the ranks of the 4.0 plus. I’m in Indianapolis where the sport is skyrocketing with courts all over town.
After playing for the last year 5 days a week I decided to get a part-time job last November which still allows me to play in the morning BUT!! Now I can’t get off for tournaments which I really enjoy because a number of them start during the weekday and the nationals which I would have loved to have been at. So now I’m torn between the job and pickleball.
    Dang!

  3. CBS “On the Money” show next Sunday morning May 20th will feature a segment on the growth of Pickleball.
